Finishing Options for Vacuum/Urethane Casting

A great part deserves a great finish. We offer a diverse selection of surface treatments to enhance the durability, functionality, and look of your vacuum-cast parts. Browse our capabilities below:

Custom paint finishes for vacuum cast parts, including solid colors, color matching, and cosmetic surface effects.

Best For: Appearance models, product prototypes, housings, covers, and branded components that require specific colors or a production-like look.

A smoothing process that improves surface clarity, gloss, and visual quality, especially for transparent or display parts.

Best For: Clear parts, lenses, light guides, display models, and prototypes that require a smooth, refined surface.

A low-gloss surface finish that reduces reflections and gives parts a clean, understated appearance.

Best For: Functional prototypes, handheld products, enclosures, and parts where a non-reflective surface is preferred.

A soft translucent finish that diffuses light and creates a smooth, semi-transparent appearance.

Best For: Light diffusers, translucent covers, cosmetic samples, and clear parts that need a softer visual effect.

Semi-gloss and high-gloss finishes create a smoother, brighter surface for a more polished product appearance.

Best For: Consumer product prototypes, presentation models, decorative parts, and components that need a premium visual finish.

Custom surface textures can be added through the mold or finishing process to improve grip, appearance, or product realism.

Best For: Grips, handles, covers, consumer electronics, and parts that need a molded texture or tactile surface.

Vacuum/Urethane Casting FAQs

Vacuum Casting can produce high-quality and sturdy parts, with physical properties comparable to Injection Molding and structurally superior to 3D printed parts.

Compared to Injection Molding, Vacuum Casting has lower costs and is the ideal cost-effective method to create small batch parts. Additionally, the turnaround time is faster for Vacuum Casting than Injection Molding. Vacuum Casting molds are much quicker to make than Injection Molding molds, which can be created by 3D Printing or even by hand, significantly shortening lead times.

Vacuum Casting is widely utilized in industries such as aerospace, automobiles, home appliances, toys, and medical devices. It is particularly suitable for the trial production of small batch samples during the development stage of new products.

There’s no MOQ for Unionfab. We offer one-off prototypes and small-batch production. It should be noted that Vacuum Casting is more cost-effective when the quantity is about 5 pieces or more.

The Vacuum Casting molds have a short lifespan, typically around 20 moldings. We will dispose of them when the production is fully completed. If you wish to keep the 3D printed or CNC machined master model, please discuss directly with us.
